Lazy

Posted on May 28, 2011

I should be writing, but…

Maybe I need a spanking?

It’s a lazy holiday weekend and I’m dreaming of a getaway. Everyone I know went somewhere this weekend or had plans. Not me. We’re not going anywhere in the near future because we’re packing to move at the end of July and the littles have a million things going on over the summer, but still. I want. Sun, sand, heat.

It was a nice enough day here today. Can’t say no to sunshine and blue skies. Thank you Mother Nature.

But.

I guess I’m just wishing for a getaway. A weekend of nothing to do but sit on the beach and tan. Lazy–no responsibilities, no clocks. Just the gentle sound of waves, the trickle of coconut oil between my breasts and maybe my Kindle for a little R&R.

Instead I’m sitting at my laptop, working. *sigh*

Well, at least the sun is shining.

Thanks to Willsin Rowe for this awesome video trailer for the Baumgartner series!

Baumgartner Generations: Henry

Posted on November 13, 2010

BAUMGARTNER GENERATIONS: HENRY

Henry’s in trouble. He’s gone from being a big fish in a little pond in his home town to being a very small fish in a much bigger pond at college, and he’s just not keeping up.

Instead of passing him through his classes because of his athletic ability like they did in high school, he discovers his professors actually mean it when they say he needs to do the work or he’s going to fail his classes—and be kicked off the all-star hockey team.

Adjusting to life at university sure isn’t as easy or fun as he thought it was going to be—his roommate likes the same girl he does, and it looks like she likes him, too; he’s failing English for sure and the dragon-lady who teaches the class seems to have a personal vendetta against him; and his hockey coach has even gone so far as to bench him!

When his parents hire him a tutor, he turns to this angel of mercy for help, but little does he realize that Mrs. Toni Franklin is going to complicate his life in ways he never could have foreseen…

Warnings: This title contains graphic language, sex and a masturbation/sex toy scene that has to be read to be believed! ;)

EXCERPT:

Next to him, Toni uncrossed her legs, her leg brushing his jean-clad one. He could look down and see her knees, exposed, the shape of her body in the seat, lean but curvy. Sexy.

Stop it, he told himself. It was seeing Libby, he reasoned, after the amazing game he’d played, that had him feeling so excited. He was just still flying high, and the presence of the woman beside him was nothing but a physical reminder.

Henry tore his eyes away from his professor’s legs and looked back to the movie. Christ, they were going at it! The girl on screen moaned, arching, and he didn’t need subtitles to figure out what was going on. It made him squirm in his seat, feeling Toni shift beside him.

When she leaned in to ask, “Does this make you uncomfortable?” he actually jumped.

He swallowed, glancing at her, then back at the screen. “Sort of.”

“Why?” She was close enough he could feel her breath against his cheek.

“Because you’re here,” he admitted.

“Why does that make a difference?” Her words were soft, whispered, hot against his skin.

“I don’t know.” He wanted to say what he was really thinking, how much the girl on the screen reminded him of a younger version of her, but he didn’t dare. He couldn’t tell her the truth—that watching two people having sex on-screen made him think about her, imagining…well…

“I think you do,” she insisted and he stiffened when he felt her hand on his knee, squeezing gently. This wasn’t happening. That’s what he told himself, looking up to see the sex scene over, but he still couldn’t breathe.

Instead of saying anything, he mirrored her, putting his own hand on her knee, squeezing. He felt her tense and glanced up to see her looking not at the screen, but at his hand on her leg.

“Henry.” Her voice was barely a whisper as she met his eyes in the darkness.

“Sorry,” he said. But his hand moved on its own, nudging her skirt up to mid-thigh.

“Don’t apologize.”

Her thigh was bare. He was touching skin and could feel the heat of her. Crazy. That was all that registered in his brain. This was crazy. Not happening. A dream.

But it wasn’t. Her skin was like silk. And the hand on his was massaging gently. “What are we doing?” he breathed.

He heard her swallow, saw her throat work when she did, before she whispered, “That’s a good question.”

“Toni…” He turned toward her, seeing her lick her lips, watching her mouth glistening in the light and shadow.

“You’re not paying attention to the movie,” she said, looking up at the screen as if she was actually focused there.

She wasn’t wearing stockings. He couldn’t think about anything else. “What movie?”

“You should pay attention,” she admonished him, but her hand was inching upward. It was nearing his crotch. Oh my god, it really was.

He shook his head, his gaze dipping down to the V of her button-down blouse. Her breasts had to be her second-best feature, full and round. She wore her clothes in the latest fashion, dark colored bras with light colored blouses, and it only accentuated at them more. “I can’t.”

“What’s distracting you?” She was trying to stay in teacher-mode, asking all the right questions. Part of his issue with reading was staying focused, not letting the outside world get in the way. But it wasn’t the outside world that was the problem. And she damned well knew it, he was sure of that fact. He couldn’t quite believe it, but he couldn’t deny the hand nudging against the inseam of his jeans.

“You’re distracting me.” He whispered the words against the soft shell of her ear, feeling the tickle of her hair against his nose. “What would you say if I told you…”

His hand moved up on her thigh and he felt her clench, heard her gasp, but she half-turned toward him, shifting in her chair. “If you told me what…?”

“If I told you…” His lips moved against her cheek as he spoke.

“Henry…” Her voice turned to pleading.

“I just…” He closed his eyes, breathing in her scent. She was so close in the dark, he could feel her breath, coming too fast. “I can’t stop thinking about it.”

She turned her head toward him, just slightly.“About what?”

“Kissing you.” That wasn’t all he was thinking about. Not by a long shot. But it was a start. He felt the corner of her mouth against his lips, could almost taste her.

“So do it,” she breathed, bridging the gap and capturing his mouth with hers, the kiss hitting him with a force he hadn’t known possible.

Epic Award Finalists: Heidi and the Kaiser and Second Chance

Posted on October 27, 2010

I have TWO finalists in the 2011 EPIC eBook Awards Competition. The EPIC eBook Awards have been held annually since 2000, honoring distinctive works published in electronic format. All works are judged by active EPIC Members, published authors or publishing professionals.

I’ve been an EPIC Awards finalist twice before, but have never won. (Always a bridesmaid, never a bride! lol) I am really proud, however, that HEIDI AND THE KAISER was chosen as a finalist out of the largest-entered Epic category this year (contemporary erotic romance). There was some stiff competition this year! (every pun intended *grin*) I’m also pretty proud that SECOND CHANCE is a finalist in the erotic category and is my very first male/male story. I must have done something right! :)

Winners will be announced at next year’s EPICON in Williamsburg,VA in March. I can’t wait!

The women in John’s life seem to know more about what John’s heart really wants than he does. His sister encourages him to see a psychic to sort things out but the fortune teller only adds to his confusion. Who does John really love – and is it fate or is it choice?

EXCERPT:

“You should go.”

John ignored his sister and picked up the card she’d left on the table—no moon or crystal ball, just thick, cream-colored paper with the words “Rebecca – Psychic” in raised letters.

Not another Rebecca.

He ran his thumb over the elegant script, his mind flashing on his Becca, wondering. The possibilities were endless. Thinking about her married and settled with two kids, a dog and a minivan made him cringe. But imagining her in that place, locked away like she’d been when their world had ended in fire, and his had become like ice…that was too much to bear.

Maybe she’s happy. He clung to that hope.

Even five years later, he missed her more than he would ever admit to anyone, let alone his sister, sitting across from him at the café table drinking her skinny latte and smirking at him. He cursed her silently for mentally opening the wound. He didn’t need to be thinking about Becca—especially not now, today of all days.

“Rebecca—no last name. Shouldn’t it be The Spectacular Rebecca? You know, like The Amazing Kreskin?”

Julia sipped her latte, looking out the window, her gaze avoiding his. Oh great, now she’s pouting.

“Okay, what did she tell you?” he went on. “Let me guess—you’re going to win the lottery.”

Julia snorted softly, putting her cup down. “She’s not that kind of psychic.”

“She doesn’t tell the future?” He took a big gulp of his coffee—steaming hot and black—hoping the heat might loosen the crushing ache in his chest.

“She’s doesn’t tell the future about material things…at least, not anymore.” She frowned. “It’s all about relationships and interactions.”

He raised an eyebrow at her, checking the text coming in on his cell. He was waiting for a buyer for a very expensive 17th century armoire to call, but it was just his mother. She probably wanted him to go see the psychic, too. “But you’re married—you and Tim having issues?”

“She can tell you about more than just marriages.” Julia’s face changed in an instant and he recognized it, that desperately hopeful look, and knew already what she was going to say. “She said I’m going to get pregnant.”

“Oh?” John hid his clenched fists under the table. “Did she give you any timeline?”

Julia and Tim had been trying for three years—three long heartbreaking years. Four miscarriages and one failed adoption later, they were still trying. John thought any sane person would have given up but his sister wasn’t sane when it came to this, and far be it from him to try to argue with a woman’s biological clock.

“She said it would be this cycle.” His sister beamed.

“Well, for your sake, I hope she’s right.” He meant it.

“Anyway, you should go.” Whenever she was up to something, one side of his sister’s mouth always betrayed her with a slight smirk. “Ask her about Josie.”

He scoffed, checking his cell again, regretting the day he ever taught his mother how to send a text message. “I don’t need a psychic to tell me what to do with my love life.”

She shrugged, sipping her latte. “If you say so.”

“As a matter of fact,” John said, deleting the text. “I’m proposing to Josie.”

“Oh my god!” She choked on her coffee. “When?”

“Tonight.” He pulled the ring out of his pocket and flipped the gray velvet box open. His sister gasped at the three carat diamond in a unique antique platinum setting he had discovered in the south of France on a buying trip. “Made reservations at La Maison.”

Julia sighed. “That’s the perfect place for a proposal.”

“That’s what I thought.” He snapped the box closed and pocketed it again. It had been burning there for days and he found himself checking its existence every hour or so. “But don’t overwhelm me with your congratulations or anything.”

“Oh John, I’m sorry,” she apologized. “I just…are you sure? You know I love Josie, I think the world of her…but…”

“I’m sure.” He cut her off, picking up his coffee, ignoring the inquiring look in her eyes.

“John, I…hang on.” Julia fished her ringing cell phone out of her pocket, whispering to him, “It’s the doctor’s office,” before actually saying, “Hello?…yes, this is she… yes, I… oh… yes, I will…thank you.”

John watched her eyes, not even realizing he was holding his breath, trying to predict the news by her reaction. Her face was pale, her hands shaking as she flipped the phone closed.

“Sis?” He prompted her and she swallowed, dazed. He readied himself for the tears, his arms already opening to comfort her. “What is it? Are you okay?”

“I’m…okay,” she managed, blinking as if the light was too bright. She opened her mouth and then closed it again, the words caught, and then she said them, surprising them both. “I’m pregnant.”

2010 EPIC AWARD FINALIST: The Real Mother Goose

Posted on November 25, 2009

The Real Mother Goose has been selected as a 2010 EPIC award finalist in the “fantasy romance” category!

THE REAL MOTHER GOOSE

Available in EBOOK

and in PRINT

Settle yourself in for a wicked bed time story, a hot, wild ride through nursery rhymes like you’ve never heard them before. Set in a fantastical world where the privileged few own and raise sex slaves like beloved pets, Mother herself is the star of the show, wielding a riding crop and taking care of and training her young charges with a firm and skillful hand. But where has Father Goose wandered off to, and who will take Mother in hand when she ventures too far?

JOYFULLY REVIEWED by Patrice F:

Selena Kitt puts an amazingly unique and hot twist on the key players from the well-known nursery rhymes.   Many of the scenes definitely made me pause in admiration at her ingenuity.  I refuse to spoil it for anyone interested in reading this book by going into more detail.  The author worked too hard to offer a salacious spread of inventive sex and characters.  There is no way I will reveal the erotic goodies and wildly titillating scenes she has so painstakingly transcribed in this raunchy, racy fantasy.  There are a couple of plot twists and turns that will leave you with your mouth hanging wide open in surprise.  Voracious reader that I am, I certainly didn’t anticipate one shocker in particular and I’m the first to admit it was refreshingly creative.  Batten down the hatches because The Real Mother Goose runs riot and I guarantee you’ll be swept away on a tempest of passion!  The inspiration might be from nursery rhymes but it’s certainly not for anyone under age 18.   There are loads of familiar faces from all the various rhymes in a variety of X-rated scenarios that will astonish and delight you.
